Customer Service Assistant (PT)

What do we need?
We are seeking a high energy, customer service oriented, team player.  A high school diploma and customer service experience required. Library experience preferred, but not required. A comfort level with computers and technology is a must.


What would you do?
Check in items, inspect items, check out items,  register patrons for library cards, collect fines and fees, place meeting room reservations, and more.  In  addition, Customer Service Assistants also work the Computer Lab Desk assisting in the operation of patron access to computers including, but not limited to, free email services such as Gmail, Hotmail, Yahoo, etc. Proficiency with electronic, print, and Internet resources as well as Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Publisher, copy machines, printers.


When would I work?
Approximately 12 hours per week with at least one evening per week and at least one—two Saturday/Sunday per month.

Information Services Assistant: Full Time (Babies and Toddlers Focus)

Description/Responsibilities: The Brownsburg Public Library is seeking rock star candidates for a full-time (37.5 hours) Information Services Assistant position.  This person will be responsible for developing services, programs, and the library’s collection for babies and toddlers ages 0-3.5.  The successful candidate will be an advocate for early literacy in our community by sharing a love of reading with children, gently teaching caregivers early literacy skills, and providing quality books and storytimes to the public, not to mention shaking their sillies out on a regular basis!  In addition, this individual will work at both the Adult and Children’s desks to serve our community with high quality reference and technology assistance.  Hours will include one desk night per week and one weekend per month, with additional evenings occasionally for programming. 

Qualifications: Librarian Level 5 -- 60 hours of college or associate's degree plus 9 semester hours of required library science courses

Salary: $11/hour; benefits include health insurance, dental and vision (optional), and more!
